  • Call your local council or check their website. Many local councils offer programs that are helpful to people wanting to achieve or maintain a healthy weight. These programs are often free or available at discounted rates.
  • Use your postcode to search the Healthy Living Network for registered activities, programs and providers in your local area. The Healthy Living Network lists programs and service providers that have been registered against an established Quality Framework of standards and criteria. The Healthy Living Network offers consumers the opportunity to search for healthy lifestyle related activities at both the local community level and within the workplace.
  • Check the Heart Foundation website to see if there is a local walking group that you could join. If there isn't a walking group in your area, you could consider starting your own Heart Foundation walking group.
  • Contact your local YMCA or YWCA to see if they offer health and wellbeing programs and services that might assist you in achieving and maintaining a healthy weight.
