Achieving and maintaining a healthy weight is easier when you have the support of those around you. So if you can, talk to your family, friends and workmates about what you want to do and why, and what you hope to achieve. Ask directly for their support.

  • Suggesting a family physical activity you could all do together, such as tenpin bowling, cycling or a game of touch footy
  • Catching up with friends and walking together to a new park in the next suburb
  • Preparing a healthy tasty snack once a week and sharing it with your workmates.

If you take the initiative, you might find friends and family follow your lead.
